State Wildlife Action Plans (SWAPs) are congressionally-mandated "road maps" for research, restoration, management, and recovery projects addressing Species of Greatest Conservation Need (SGCN) and important habitats.
The goal of the plan is ultimately to conserve and improve the status of these species and help prevent the need for listing under the Endangered Species Act.
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is currently conducting a comprehensive review of Texas's State Wildlife Action Plan, as part of the SWAP 2025 update process.
***Please stay tuned for opportunities to engage in the Fall of 2024.***
