Recovering America's Wildlife Act Update

Yesterday, Congress released the details of the end-of-the-year spending package and it did not include the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act—historic legislation that would have brought $1.4 billion per year to states and tribes across the U.S. for critically-needed wildlife and habitat conservation. Lawmakers could not come to an agreement on how to pay for the Act in time.

The momentum that brought us this far demonstrates the power of our collective voice and your dedication to America's wildlife. The bill had more than 240 bipartisan House and Senate cosponsors and is backed by a broad, diverse coalition consisting of hundreds of organizations and businesses from around the country. Millions of Americans—like you—want to see this legislation passed.

We can't give up hope—our at-risk wildlife still need our support. Without meaningful wildlife conservation funding, thousands more species across the U.S. will slip closer to becoming endangered. Efforts of this kind can take many years to get across the finish line, and it’s comforting to know that when Texans are called upon to be a voice for wildlife, you will be ready to act.

Please stay connected with our Texas Alliance members who continue the good work of protecting land, restoring wildlife habitat, reintroducing declining species, connecting Texans with the outdoors—and so much more. They sure could use your support!
